Can someone answer a dog breed question?

Question:I bought a puppy this week that is half godlen retriever, half yellow lab. Is there a specific name for this breed? I was just wondering.

Answers:
MUTT plain , simple AND the truth.

you PAID for a mutt???

geez, next time go to the shelter and rescue a mutt.
Mutt. It isn't a specific breed. It is a mix or cross-breed.
no there is no real name for a mix. some people make it up -- like, "labradoodle", or "shihpoo", or "golden lab" or whatever the heck it is people make up these days.
pretty much you can name your dog whatever you like and that should be the only thing to be concerned about.
Your dog is not a breed. He's a mix. There's nothing wrong with mixes, they actually tend to live longer and be healthier. I am concerned that you "bought" him. Don't support backyard breeders who try to make a profit off of innocent animals.
That is not a breed. That is a mix.
I'm sure you could come up with some exotic designer name...Ive always called my mutts Chihuahua dachsund mix...and a chihuahua rat terrier mix. I hate all the designer names like a labradoodle.choodle. Call it what it is...if its not a purebred basically it is just a mix. Hope this helps.
this is an easy one, since i'm a dog lover, and also my lab is the love of my life. your dog is a registered fence jumper.
these dogs are the new hollywood breeds. people who breed these dogs charge out the A*S. They are considered hybrids. I hope you didn't pay much. you could have gone to rescue shelter and adopted one of those "special" dogs that "breeders" are charging $1000's for! absolutely ridiculas! anyway. you have a "hybrid" or a mutt or a mix...whatever you prefer to call it.
We call them> designer mutts. ;-) Good luck with him/her!
Aw, that's so cool! You got puppy! That's so awesome, puppies are just so cute! Anyway, I think you should make up a breed name for it, because I'm pretty sure there isn't a specific name for them. Just make sure ,that, next time you get a pooch- rescue one from a shelter, they are usually the best to get because they are sweet and need a home and usually are already tame. But still, I think it's so cool that you got a puppy- they're so awesome. Here, let me tell you a story. please read it because it's really good! I promise!

One hot summer day, my family and I were driving home from the pool. (We live in the country by the way.) We saw something targeting in the ditch, so we pulled over to see what it was. It was a beagle!! It didn’t have a collar on it, and it smelled like skunk... so we picked it up and drove around the country asking every house we saw if they new who this beagle belonged to.
We couldn’t find the owner. We already planned a vacation that would be ten days long; we wandered what we'd do about this little beagle. We named it Katie. We had one of our friends come by our house everyday to feed her, and my cat, Samy. When we were on vacation, about a week into the trip, the "pet babysitter" called us and said "Um... I don't know if I'm feeding this dog to much, or if its...pregnant!!" The rest of our vacation, I was hoping she WAS pregnant and that we had six puppies, one for each of us (my two stepsisters, me, my brother, and stepbrother, and one extra for our "pet babysitters' " daughter.
We came home when our vacation was over and took Katie to the vet to get an X-ray. SHE HAD SIX LITTLE PUPPIES IN HER TUMMY!!! I went crazy, I love animals, and to know that I was going to raise SIX LITTLE PUPPIES with the first dog I've ever had- I was just CRAZY! Puppies! About five and a half days later, Katie went into labor. One morning we all woke up at six o' clock and she had six furry little potatoes nursing on her stomach! I couldn’t stop smiling, I was the first one to see any of them, and so I got to name them. Chloe, Lily, Daisy (the runt), Jake, Mike, and Snoopy!! ANYTIME they would make a noise, Katie would run to them (even in the middle of craps.) She was such a good mother. But we new when they turned two months, that they had to be sent to a new home. I begged and begged my mom to keep just one. She finally said yes, but then I begged to keep another one! She said all right. We kept Chloe and Jake.
Right before their first Christmas, Jake bit Chloe in the neck, so hard she was bleeding, bleeding badly, so we HAD to give Jake away. It was devastating, but Chloe turned out okay and Jake was sent to a new home. Then, just a few months ago, Chloe attacked Katie (and Katie wasn’t even trying to fight back her daughter.) We gave away Chloe to a nice home and now we live happily with our dog, Katie.
no, i dont think so
The breed is retriever. A Labrador is a one of the many types of retrievers.
Labrador x Golden Retriver
labradoodle=Labrador x Poodle
shihpoo=Shih-Tzu x Poodle

Most rescue shelter would probable call them Poodle x

You can get a rescue dog for less than $1000.

Most rescue puppies are around 130 to cover the cost of vaccination

Adult rescue dogs are around 200

Elderly dogs are even cheaper
NEVER BUY FROM A PET STORE.

Getting adult dog you'll already know whether it gets along well with young children!
Lucky you! My dog is a golden retriever/chocolate lab mix(but she turned out black), and she is the best dog ever! As far as I know, there is no specific name for that combo. My dog is now 13 and still going strong. She was quite rambunctious as a pup and she has settled into a wonderful, well-behaved dog. She is loved in my neighborhood and people frequently stop by to ask about her. Have fun with your new friend!
It' s called Golden Labrador. You can find a picture odf it here:

Your new puppy is part Labrador Retriever and part Golden Retriever. I would consider him a Retriever. Even though he is a mix, he is a mix of 2 great breeds. Congratulations on your new baby. Good Luck!
Your dog is not a "breed". The specific name for your dog is a mixed breed. You can tell people your pup is a Lab/Golden mix. Anything else would be untruthful.

But why are you offended? "Mixed Breed", "all american", "mutt", "mongrel"....nothing derogatory about it. Nothing to get ruffled about.

The first dog I trained in obedience was a MUTT and at an obedience fun match got a perfect score!

Love your pup, be proud, and call him a mix

Making up some fancy name for what he is will cheapen him
