"i have a year old female half black lab half golden retriever .?

Question:for some reason she wont go in the water.

Answers:
Hi,

Not all goldens love water. I am sure that not all labs love water either. Each dog has their own personality.

I love this mix. We had one for many, many years. She was the best dog, a bit heavy though. She did shed a lot, but not as much as a full golden does. And she didn't have the extreme docile personality of a golden either. She was a bit more spunky. I just loved her, and I hope you enjoy yours. BabyDoll went everywhere with me, and loved to sit in the backseat and navigate for us. (we had a minivan back then when the kids were little) This is a wonderful mix.. Of course any golden mix is a wonderful mix.

Where did you get her from?

Give her time, maybe she will warm up to it...
She hasn't learned the joy of water! Take her to a lake with a gradual shore and a friend with a dog who likes water, some floaty toys and in about 20 minutes you won't be able to get her out!
We have two labs (one black, one yellow), and for a while they were scared of water. The solution? My dad picked them up and threw them in. Now we can't get them to stay out of it.
she must get used to water and comfort with it,
this is very very normal with dogs. some dogs just don't like water for the same reason cats don't like it. my german sheppard hates it too. my friend's black lab and foxhound hate it. most outside dogs don't like it very much. I had a half chow, half golden retriever dog and she loved the water. all dogs are different. if you want to give your doggie a bath, tye her up in a dry place and hose her gently. comfort her and show her water is her friend.
Not all labs or retrievers like water. My brother has a black lab and she hates water. Go figure!
my lab mix was almost 2 before she went in the water, and that was after she watched my sons golden. put some toys at the waters edge, give her some encouragement, and she will learn to love it.
A plastic kiddie pool and a tennis ball or any of her favorite toys that will float. She will play from the edge where she feels safe, then she will walk in it. She may never go fully into cool or cold water. A lot of dogs don't like their belly cold and wet unless they are very hot. If the water is warm she should start to get fully wet on her own. Don't force her, as this could cause a permanent fear of water.
Try putting her favorite toy in a shallow pool of water and sending her in to get it. After a while, you can throw it out deeper and deeper. She may learn to love it.
Some do not, please do not throw her in, like some idiot told you to, introduce her to it, she will go in on her own, if she wants to, do not force her
