I disagree with the above answer by Ant Z. I have pomeranians and even though they are hyper and can be yappy (best burglar alarm in town!) they are so sweet and loving. They do require a lot of grooming and they shed a lot so if you are not prepared to keep it brushed and the fur cut away from the rectum, then maybe you should reconsider. I wouldn't trade all the time I have had with my pommies. They are loyal and follow me everywhere, and they are not vindictive!
theyre really annoying and hyper active. if you dont let it take out its wrath on something, your gonna be the victim. although they do look cute. but overall theyre not worth it.
The Pomeranian is a compact, active toy breed. They are intelligent, extremely loyal to their family, and loving. They love to please, they are gentle, and affectionate.
Pomerian are not tolerate of Children.

You can get a rescue dog for less than $1000.
Most rescue puppies are around 130 to cover the cost of vaccination
Adult rescue dogs are around 200
Elderly dogs are even cheaper

I have a Pomeranian! There really fun to play with, they are great pets for children. But they can break there bones really easy so be careful with them! Pomeranians are nice dogs and they dont weigh much.
The Pomeranian is a lively little dog. Intelligent, eager to learn, very loyal to its handler and family. Willful, bold and sometimes temperamental. If it is properly introduced they usually get along with other dogs and household animals without any problems, but some of them seem to think they are much larger than they actually are and do not hesitate to attack much bigger dogs. It is an excellent watchdog with a resounding bark. Poms have a tendency to be reserved and bark at strangers excessively. Teach this dog early that it may bark a couple of times when the doorbell rings or when there are visitors, but then to keep quiet. Be very consistent about this. They are alert, curious and busy: one of the most independent of the Toy breeds. Poms have a delightful nature and do not cling to their handlers. Proud and happy, they are good at learning tricks, but need a firm hand. The Pomeranian must know the owner is the boss, or he will not listen. This breed may become too demanding if the owner allows it. Not recommended for very young children. Too much attention from children can make these dogs nervous and they may become snappish. However, they can get along well with older, well behaved children. It is a good companion for an elderly person. The Pom is a wonderful companion dog and show ring contender. The breed's docile temper and affectionate nature endear it to many. Its vivacity and spirit make it well-liked by persons who do not usually care for toy dogs. They may be picky eaters.
These tiny toys are so much fun! They are for the most part a loving family pet. Sometimes they hop up and down when they really want to go out or come in. My pom can really put some jump to it...They are loving and happy...And they are a good alert dog.Yap Yap Yap! Nothing gets past them..They will get right to your heart.
