Dogs from a shelter or rescue cost anywhere from $65-250.. generally more is charged for puppies, purebreds, and small breed dogs.
If you are buying a "pet quality" purebred dog, some of the more common breeds can cost around $400 or so, if you are looking for a rarer breed, or something small, anywhere from $800-1200 is average.
If you are looking for a show dog, average price is ussually 2-3 times more than pet price, more can be chared if its a highly desireable sire.
go to a shelter. It's cheaper and the animal won't be put down for being there so long.

All depend on what type you buy. Range from $100 to $4000.
somewhere between $20.00 and $300.00 but some dogs cost more but my dog cost 75 dollars
Lets see bear costs about 500, Mack was about 800, Cubby was 1500, lillie was only about 200, Bessie was about 1200.
Bear - clumsy dumb at the hospital for stitches
Mack was cryptorchid
Cubby had parvo
Lillie - cropped her ear on the fence but nothing to do but help it heal
Bessie had heartworm and hip displasia and hit by a car she isn't going to be with us long but for now she is still kicking.

Depends, my alaskan husky cost $150. But the owner wanted to give me 3 huskies for that price!! So some dogs a pretty cheap. Breeded dogs are more expensive. Hope this helps you in choosing your future little friend! ;)

If you're not particular to a breed, check out the animal shelter in your area. I'm a volunteer at one and our dogs are $75... that includes spay/neuter, shots, registration, medical check, rabies vaccine, and microchip.. :)

im assuming your not looking for any certain breed and it sounds like you may have to pay for it yourself? so expect from the pound around 40 to 90 dollars if its just a mutt. but a good way to do it is search online on craigs list for free puppy's
That is quite a question, How much DO dogs cost on average? This Mainly Depends on just WHAT breed of dog you want, Or where you get it. "Top breed" dogs will of course Ask for Top Dollar. On the other hand, Pure-bred Mutts Come quite cheap XD I know My Neighbor's Dog was $2. And my three dogs: Boxer=Free (Rescued Dog); Beagle#1= $150; Beagle#2= $20 (and I got it from the same seller as Beagle #1). So to answer your question to the best of my ability: Somewhere between Free-$2,000+; No joke. If you are looking to Buy a dog, Browse The papers carefully for ads, Or visit Local Pounds and shelters, The dogs there will Be so greatful for not being Euthanized, And are usually Free. But like My Grandpa Said, "There is no such thing as a Free Dog" Furthur Thought to that I found that He meant by The Cost of Food, Toys, Endless House-Cleaners, and The amount of time you had to Give up.
It relly depends what kind of dog you get and where u get them. Muts are usually cheaper and they have less health problems. As for places to get them cheap try a shelter or mybe in the newspaper. I would recomend the shelter more though b/c I got a dog there and it was only about $30. He's still alive and is great.
