'friend'...uh..are you speaking if a dog, or a person? My husband still leaves the lid up and forgets to flush..and his aim is off...No hope for him!
But, an adult dog will learn by the same methods of teaching a puppy..take him out frequently, and give LOTS of praise when he does it where he should..It does no good to scold for mis-deeds..But plenty of praise will always work..
Hmmmmm.... maybe I haven't tried (Praise) hard enough with my husband!

same way you would a puppy. Take him out when you think he has to go and reward him when he goes outside. Many times dogs go in the same area, so the dog will want to go outside.

just potty train him like if he was still a puppy and if that dosent work take him to a place were they train dogs
