(vets) What is the lethal dose of.?

Question:oxycodone/percocet for dogs. I dropped one on the floor earlier (5/325 mg) and she ran for it and almost got it. shes about 28 lbs. thankfully i got it before she could but i was just curious. thanks

Even if your pet does not swallow a "lethal dose" of medication, if a pet eats medication it can still cause liver or kidney damage/failure, which can cause a slow, painful death.


uggh...you don't need to ask that. You just need to be careful to not drop or share your medication with your pet.
One pill definitly wouldn't do it. It would probably take 4 or 5 at least, and then your dog may just get really stoned, lol.

you'd need to call the poison control center - but normally if a dog gets into some sort of medication your best bet is to force the dog to drink hydrogen peroxide (the amount is different for different weights) this will make the dog vomit within minutes and at least by you some time until you get to your regular vet
