8wk old golden(well..white)bites too hard when at peak energy while playing.tried 'ah-ah',put toy in mouth.

Question:hes lovely but goes crazy and wants to play with my arm.bites to hard..im not one of his siblings!

Answers:
No you are not but your playing with him like you are. This doesn't mean you can't play but when you see him get tothe point where he is over excited than it's time to stop and have him relax. also the word you using is just to soft of a word. If he tried to nip you say in a loud voice OUCH! then pull your hand finger or whatever away and say NO BITE. Turn away from him and ignor him. He'll get the point that he wants to play he has to be nice and not bite.

Good luck with your Godlen pup no matter what color he is!

Stop the play immediately when he does that. Tell him "No Bite," in a strong voice and turn or walk away from him. Eventually, if you keep this up, he should get the idea.
it's probably best not to let him play with your arm at all, set him away from you and firmly tell him no each time he tries. make sure he has plenty of toys, ropes, balls, things he can be rough with. he will slow down eventually, you just need to channel his energy onto appropriate playthings.
I don't like getting the "shitty points", however...
1. he's a pup :))) enjoy the time :)
2. when he bites..."bite" him back, that's what his mom would do.
3. your dog, should never "touch" you with his teeth.
Don't give him hard time and don't take it too seriously :) Be consistent, though :)
A dog will nip and bite when playing because that is how they play with other puppies. When they nip to hard on another puppy the puppy gives a high pitched squeek or yelp and stops playing with the offender. That is what a puppy understands. There for when the puppy nips at you and its too hard then you need to say a very loud and very convincing ouch (make it sound worse then it is) and the stop playing and turn your back on the puppy. if they insist on bitting at your cloths etc when you turn your back leave the room. Please remember that you need to do this EVERY time that the dog nips to hard. if you do it only sometimes the puppy wont understand what you want
they let each other know it's too hard with a loud noise. A nice loud OUCH should do it. If it doesn't...then tap the side of his neck lightly as if you're biting him...along with the uh uh...
My golden used to do the same thing at about the same age. what worked for me was when he tried biting, i would put my hands around his muzzle and say 'no bite' loudly. if your dog whines a little, it is ok as long as you are not hurting him. after you release your dog, if he bites again, repeat the same thing above, but more firmly. if your dog listens, praise him alot. this is what my dog's breeder used to do, and it works really well! good luck!
