My small dog was bitten by a bigger dog what can I put on it to help it heal ?

Question:

Answers:
I've not found anything topically for a dog that they won't lick off. If the bite is deep or nasty - take your dog to the vet. They can give it antibiotic.

Other Answers:
take it to a vet and see what they say

Hold down the big dog while your little dog bites the heck outta him!
A vet's examination table.
Take it to a vet so it doesn't risk getting an infection
You hould take it to the vet. Even if it doesnt look bad it could get infected under the skin. Ours had a small puncture wound on the ouside but had a baseball under his skin.

They may give you some anti-biotics. For now until you can get to the vet, you can clean it with hydrogenperoxide and put some neosporen on it.
I would take it to the vet.
Or just call the vets office and ask them what to put on it or if they think your dog might need treatment.
If the dog can get to the place for licking ,put nothing on it If he/she can't just put some antibotics cream on it
Wash out the wound and bandage the wound and take your dog to the vet right away. the bigger dog may not have it's shots . which could cause more pain for your baby.
Definitely take your dog to a vet, and I hope your dog has all his vacinnation shots.
I'm rely sorry about that so i think you should take the dog to the vet to make it better.
Petsmart has a tropical pet antibacterial cream, neosporan will also help.Because its summer be sure to put vassilen on it or cover it with a badage or flies might lay eggs in it.If it's realy deep take it to the vet.
GET IT TO THE VET! I have a small dog that was bitten by a large dog. It didn't tlook that bad until later that afternoon. It turned out that the large dog destroyed muscle and fat underneath the coat and it started swelling up. Just because it doesn't look bad doesn't mean that it isn't bad. TAKE YOUR DOG TO THE VET!
the best way to help him heal is to take him to a vet
hydrogel peroxide helps the infections and if it is something that won't be licked you can use neosporin/polysporin/bacitraci... type of thing or teatree oil but if it may be licked off you will have to buy a cone so the dog can't reach it. they sell them at petsmart. you should go to the vet though so you know it isn't getting infections or whatever.
PEOPLE you do not cover or put anything on an animal bite!
It Needs to DRAIN! The vet would probably prescribe and antibiotic but they will not put stitches in an animal bite without a drain tube. If it is bad enough to need a drain tube then you definitely need to get him to a vet.

If you can, take it to a vet of course, but if you can not afford to then wash it out with water, and just watch it. Do not cover it with anything or put anything on it. Animal bites need to drain and if you put neosporin or anything on it, it could cause an abscess. If you pet is eating and drinking normal and there is no inflammation, puss or bad smell coming from the area it should heal itself. I am not saying you should not take it to the vet if you can.
first go see a vet and then give it lots of sunlight and treat it like royalty give it whatever it wants
was it a stray dog? how bad is the bite? depepending on those answers, you may want to take him into the vet to get looked. it may just need a good cleaning, or antibotics, or stiches. in any case you should at least clean the wound.

My dog was bitten once so I had someone take him to the vet. the vet only looked at the wound (which was big enough to stick a finger in) from across the room then prescribed antibotics. bad vet!
It is best to take him to the vet . Not only can the vet treat the wound , but also test and make sure the bigger bully didn't give him rabies or that infection hasn't already set in else.
It's better to be safe than sorry.
Until you get the little fellow to the vet . try using neosporin on him after you have cleaned the wound with mild soap and water and dried the area.
