Nope. I have owned 8 males and 2 of the 8 never raised their legs. One of the two who has never raised his leg is 7 years old and has lived with another male his entire life who ALWAYS lifts his leg. So I don't know why the one has never done it. But, it's nothing to be alarmed or worried about. Best wishes. Jim
Our 7 year old lab. He still usually just squats. The only time he will lift his leg, is if he wants to pee on a tree, or if another dog not in the family is watching...
Our pug always lifts his leg.
Our 18 month old Dane still squats. So, I guess it just depends on the dog.
No not all boy dogs mine doesn't he leans over kinda like a girl.
they fine . they do that so they dont get it on them "pee" (I think that's y they do that at least) my friends dog is a girl and she lifts her leg when she goes lol and my friend has a male dog so that may be y she does that .

They don't HAVE to lift a leg to pee. That is both a learned as well as instinctual. As puppies they all squat to pee. I had a male Boxer that was still squatting to pee at 2 years old. So, no, they don't have to lift a leg to pee.
They lift their legs to mark territory so alot of times in their own yard they won't hike. Some dogs will always hike, the macho/dominate ones and some dogs never hike, the softer/submissive ones. It has more to do with temperament than age neutered or neutered or not. My Dobe rarely hikes, usually on at the dog park to impress some other dog..lol. Most of my minpins always hike but they are a dominate terrier like breed. My Lab usually does but not always at home but always at the dog park. My g/f's GSD didn't hike until he was about 3 yrs old and was then around many other dogs. My Rott pup lifted his leg at 4 mos.It is really of no consequences if a dog does or not and for most people a softer less aggressive non hiker is better.

Nope, and it does not depends so much on their gender either. A dominant dog wants to spread his odor as far as possible so he lifts his leg to pee higher. The smell of the pee Will travel further trough the air if it is deposited in a high place.
It depends not so much on the dog being a boy as on the dog being dominant. I even know a super dominant female dog that pees while standing on her hind legs.
My dog is huge on marking territory and he does hike. Several of my friends have male dogs that just do the lean to the side. I have noticed that it definitely takes larger dogs a longer amount of time before they hike up. My neighbor has a great dane and it didn't hike until about 1yr old. He would try to and just fall over. It was almost like he hadn't grown into his manliness, pretty entertaining, but eventually he got it! But don't worry if he doesn't!

not all boy dogs have 2 lift up their legs 2 pee. I have a male Border Collie, and he doesnt lift up his leg 2 pee.
