U eat it instead.
Get rid of the cat?
eat it yourself before the dog gets to it.
get rid of that damn cat!
Either get a littermaid electric litterbox so the dog can't get it. http://www.littermaid.com/
Or sprinkle hot spices on it, but then again you should pick up the cats poop to begin with.
keep the litter box somewhere that the dog can't reach or get at...under something he can't fit, up high where he can't reach something like that
you spray it with this stuff> go to the strore
For some odd reason dog consider cat poop to be culinary crack rock. Good luck with that!! Only thing I can think is to try buying a covered catbox that the dog can't get into- or one of the automatic cleaning ones. Either would work! :)
My dog eats my cats duty too... yuck, if you find the answer please tell me.
i dont think you can. i wish there was a way because my three dogs do the same things.
scoop it up before then, obviously
Put the dogs nose in the s h i t , he wont go near it then !!
Put Tabasco sauce on it.
Seriously, I put my cats box in a cupboard. The cat learned to open it. The dog didn't.
My dog does the same thing. we put a cat door in the room the little box is in that our dog couldn't fit through, and the cat could. Worked GREAT! Good luck! I know it's a very agrivating problem!
My sister's dog does the same thing. Put the litter box off the ground. In our basement we have the litter on a card table. Do make sure you show the cat where you've put it. And if you move it far from where it was you will need to re-orientate the cat. Some are fickle and the cat may poop elsewhere if he isn't shown where it is.
I had to get covered cat boxes to keep my lab out of the litterbox.
both of my dogs have done this the vet told me to gat a spray bottle with water in it and when you see them do it spray them it has worked pretty well for me
The only time my dog ever ate poop was when we forgot to feed him...so if you forgot to feed him, he probably just got hungry and ate, well, whatever was just lying around. I'd make sure your dog's bowl is filled at least twice a day so that he won't devour the fecal matter of your cat.
Ugh. My dogs too. They just do it because some nutrients from the cat's food hasn't been processed yet. Charming, isn't it? There are products you can put around the litter box that repel dogs, but cats don't mind. Check your local pet store. Good luck!
The vet told me the dog is lacking vitamins. Get him some of the liquid vitamins to put in the water.
If your cat goes in a litter box, put the litter box to wear that can get, but the dog can not. If it is outside, good luck. All you can do is scold them a little, but you can't watch your dog 24 hours a day.
put tha dawg to sleep!
Well my dog started doing it so I fed him more and he doesnt do it anymore biscuts are a good way to do it. Dog is just hungery so hes eating what he can find. Thats what the vet told me. Also Swatting the dog on its head and telling him no and its bad is a good way too that way he knows its bad to do. He is a dog he doesnt know it is bad to eat cat ****. Maybe it taste good to him. So you have to tell them no like a little kid.
haha, our dog did THIS ALL THE TIME. and its soo disgusting!
we usually just kept a real close eye on him, and when he went close to the litter box, we scolded him.
we also cleaned out the box frequently...
good luck!
I'm not a cat fan so I would echo everyone else who said to get rid of the cat. However, I don't think that is a practical answer for you.
Put the cat's little box in a place the dog can't go. Maybe you can put it up high on something where only the cat goes.
They make a muzzle like things that prevents the dog from eating stuff like that. Looks a little like Hannibal Lecter but it can work.
Clean up so the dog wont get to the cat poop! Or leave the dog outside if its inside!
keep cat poop scooped,,,, all dogs love this tastey little treat,, it is gross.
Keep the cat box up where the dog can't get to it. Don't get worried that your dog is doing it. Of course you don't need to encourage him, but most dogs do this for some disgusting reason!!
Just try to keep the box as clean as possible if you can't keep the dog away.
We affectionally called the 'Kitty Krunchies' as our dogs liked the ones that had been there a day or so!!! ;-)
It's disgusting, isn't it? :\ My cousin lived with us for awhile and she had a cat. My dog used to actually get into the litter box and dig to find the poop. It was the most horrible thing, and she never did figure out why she was being bathed every day (go figure!) Anyways, what we did was built a table that the cat could get up on, but not the dog. And we put the litter box on the second shelf, and the food and water on the top shelf. The cat was happy because his food wasn't getting eaten, we were happy because Katie couldn't eat the poop, and the cat also felt like he was the king of the house being able to sit on top of his 'castle' and look down upon all of his 'lowly subjects'. Come to think of it, the only creature in the house not happy about the whole arrangement was Katie.
