Question:I have a 6 year old golden retriever and on his right ear I felt this squishy lump about half an inch long. It doesn’t appear to be causing him pain or trouble. And it doesn’t bother him when I touch it. It almost feels like pus inside of it but his ear looks normal it just has this odd long lump. What is it? Thanks for any help.

Take him to the vet. It sounds like a hematoma.
sounds like a cyst. Take him to the vet. they should drain it and make sure it is not harmful.
it might be a fatty tumor, they are harmless, my rottweiler used to get them on her head and under her ears also.
Sounds like he shook his head and whacked his ear against something hard.. It's likely blood building up in there.. You'll want the vet to take a look at it, probably drain it out and maybe some antibiotics.
Also, sometimes if a dog shakes their head a lot, they may break small blood vessels in the ear, which can cause a small pocket of blood to form. In that case, it will most likely clear up by itself. K ;o)
It could be any of the above, or it could be an aural haematoma. Either way, you should have the vet look at it in case it's something that requires treatment.
You need to take your dog to a Vet. This is quite possibly a Hematoma. (caused bya broken blood vessel in the ear) and needs to be fixed. I had two dogs that got them at the same time and they required surgical intervention.
It's probably an aural haematoma (build up of blood from broken vessels in the skin). It's caused by trauma, including head shaking.
Get this lump checked. Aural haematomas can lead to nasty infections, and if the dog has been shaking his head he may have another problem, like an ear infection. Aural haematomas are pretty uncomfortable, remember dogs don't show pain like we do. They need to be drained and stitched by a vet. If it isn't an aural haematoma, you need to find out what it is.
