Answers:
You can go on-line and look for photos of all kinds of dogs and print them off and frame them to hang up on the walls. Make sure you find photos you can and are allowed to print. If there is a name of artist and animal with each picture, include it with the photo. You can usually find frames at used store like thrift shops and good will that shouldn't cost too much. Or you could paint a Murial on the wall showing a dog or dogs getting bathed and groomed or anything you think would fit depending on the wall size.
I think it is great that you don't charge outrageous prices. Also you said something about tips. I would suggest just setting a jar that is marked Tips on the counter, and if someone wants to leave a tip, they can. Have fun with what ever you decide to do grooming salon. I'm sure what ever you do, it will look and be great. Good Luck!

You could hang pictures of groomed dogs(from magizines)and then paint the walls a baby poo brown. It will look very "dog"afficiente...
The tips part is up to the person who owns the dog. Some people feel they don't need to tip people who own the business because all the profits are theirs. Some people who are generous do tip.

You should go to wal-mart and get some dog posters and frame them and hang them. Also find a wall paper border with paw prints or go to a craft store and find a large paw print stamp and stamp the paw prints as a border

Keep it simple
get some little kid animal stencils, and paint some dogs onto the walls!

Have a coloring contest for little kids, and hang the pics on the wall...

Also, a tip jar is a good idea. That way if people want to, they can give you a little extra, but they aren't pressured into it.
You could get corkboards and hang pictures of your clients on the wall. Ask for cute or funny pictures of your clients' dogs and I'm sure you'll get SOMETHING. Maybe even some good before and after pictures would work.

As for tips, it's up to the person. As it is a service, tips are generally more welcome (you tip the server at a restaurant for providing good service, whereas you don't tip the clerk at the grocery store for food, which is what you're mainly there for), but they aren't necessary. People coming to a grooming salon that is cheaper maybe can't afford $60 to have their dogs groomed, so, as ironic and unfair as it may seem that they've got more money (having spent less), they still don't tip, but if they got an expensive grooming job done, they might have tipped.

I remember when I paid at a fast food restaurant with a debit card and there was a line for how much the tip would be. Interesting that I remember that but not the first time I did so at a sit-down restaurant. It might be the same idea (I don't want to offend you by calling your establishment "cheap,").
you should offer a senior discount I have two dogs and I usually take them to a school to get groomed because I can't afford 60.00 for two dogs, the dogs can't help they need grooming some parts of the year. Its a kindness for the animals and the seniors, you will not lose business but get more.
I like the corkboard idea and maybe you could put before and after pictures on it. As far as tips go that is up to the customer but I always tip my groomer. Manly because I was one and I know how hard the job is.
