When I discipline my dog what does it mean when he rolls on his back and pees on himself?

Question:Usually after he's yelled at. He's not smacked.

Answers:
Well, the act of rolling on his back is a sign of submission to you. He's giving over to you, and saying 'okay, you win. I'm sorry.'

Peeing is a response when a dog is overly excited or overly nervous.

So the two together...Your dog is showing respect towards your authority, but he is nervous as to whether or not he can win his way back into your good graces again.

he is scard and dogs lay on there back to show submision
that is an incredible submissive behaviour, and you will only be able to stop it by never yelling at him. use a normal tone of voice, and work with him on developing some more confidence. it can be done, but it will take a lot of work on your part.
Even if he isn't smacked it shows that the dog is terrified of ur harsh discipline and thinks that u wud hit him so he pees maybe u can tone down ur voice and when u do discipline him just go to him and rub ur hands on his head cajoling him a bit so that way he knows hez done a good job in obeying ur instructions, appreciate him but moving ur hands on his body the same way u'd tender love to a baby.

He seems to be a very submissive dog so he will definately follow ur rules but start appreciating his efforts and he will stop this peeing on himself.
submissive pee for sure.
First of all, is yor dog a spaniel? Some spaniels are known to have nervous bladders along with other breeds of dogs. If he rolls over nd pees on himself and has never been spanked its because he knows what he has done was wrong and its the dogs way of dealing with you yelling. My theory is that at some point he was spanked and yelled at and now anytime someone yells at him he pees a little. Don't spank your dog it dosent help EVER, and it just makes you and the dog feel bad! Yelling dosent work either. Ues a common dominator. Next time the dog has done something wrong say kennel up and put him in a kennel for a couple of hours. Eventually he will forget about his nasty habbit of rolling over and peeing because he is not getting yelled at anymore.
he is afraid of you !!
Sometimes words are not needed when your dog need to be disciplined why not roll him on his back yourself and just say no. I did that with my dog because she hated when I yelled at her. So only one word is used. and she gets the point
