Question:He recently started fighting our other dog and has taken to bitting us as well, as other behavior problems. I feel the best thing is to have him put to sleep as he doesn't get along with children or teenagers either. He bit my 70 yr old father this morning.
Answers:
Please consider having your vet check the dog for physicall sickness or some sort of injury, either one of these could be the cause of your dog suddenly biting. Most times there is an underlying reason a dog bites.Contacting a professional trainer would also be a good idea.Let the vet and trainer help you decide if putting your dog down is what really needs to be done. The vets around here charge by weight of the dog,as it effects how much of the med is needed to euthanize the dog.

My vet charges $40 and & $10 for disposal.
what diff does it make how much it costs if you love her-and she needs it do it cause you love her-and hold her til the end. it hurts but you can do it out of love.
give it to the pound they can make the decision, maybe there is a reason that it is biting all of a sudden! dog maybe ill give it a chance, is probably hurting to have thi sudden change. should be checked ou by the vet first.
Well the Vet Determines the cost by weight and what you decide to do with the remains such as cremation and you want the ashes or just a drop off burial where they bury the pet at a common site. They say the cheapest is to have you take your pet home afterwards and bury it your self I know its hard but its the whole process of life I am deeply sorry that you have to go through this. If you want a price I am guessing about 20-50 dollars depending on the vet. You are in my prayers!
You sure you can't take to dog obedience or something? Ask the vet, don't automatically think of putting it to sleep, that is cruel. How'd you like someone to do that to you if you acted up? He might not like kids, or noise, some pets prefer quiet and mature people.
I had a 10yr old cocker. His name is Alex. I put him down on Dec. 23,2005. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. He had tumors and bleeding. I had him euthanized and a private cremation. $185. He is here on my desk in a nice cedar box. I am from Pennsylvania. Go to petloss.com. It gave me some sort of consolation. Rainbow Bridge
have you taken it to the vet recently, it could be in pain, and you would never know. it is a fact that no dog will attack or bite without a reason. dont give up on it so quick. he's not just going to start being aggressive for no reason....give him the benefit of the doubt and take him to the vet, he could be hurting inside and he could be miserable. how old is the dog? please just take him to the vet,and not to be put down,to be checked. dont put him down.call a trainer...spending alittle money would be worth his life right? if you refuse to take him to the vet to be checked out then take him to a humane society and tell them that you cant or wont train your dog. and please if you are that quick and willing to kill an animal, i suggest you dont get anymore pets.
