Hello -
Assuming you are keeping this dog in doors while she is pregnant - there is no particularily better time of year. Depending on your location a fall or spring climate is more evenly temperatured - but honestly it is more dependent on when the female is in heat.
If you are not experienced in breeding dogs, I would stay away from it entirely. Lots of potential headaches, vet bills, and a risk of losing your female if you don't know what you are doing.
Good Luck.

The best time is on the 2nd season, AFTER YOU HAVE SOLID HOMES READY FOR THE PUPS! Then spay her!
Pure bred dogs are being killed in shelters just as often as the mixes are now, this problem with over population in a world where too many people HAVE to work all day long, animals destroy homes, chew furniture, howl bark soil the rugs, furniture... when left alone.
Having a dog is a serious responsibility, letting it have babies just so you can have a whole bunch of fun for a short time gets old FAST! Boxer pups eat like small horses, that translates to tons of POOP. and gallons of PEE... then the cost to mutilate them by cutting off their tails and trimming claws off and the pain of their ears getting trimmed... unless you have a Champion show dog, spay it!
Every year, 15 MILLION dogs, cats, ferrets, birds and other pets are killed just because the fascination with pets wears thin on people who cant be home while the animal is wrecking the place.. they DIE because there arent enough good homes available. If you MUST breed your dog, lock in homes FIRST. Get solid committments from buyers and check out the homes first.
The female will have something to say about that, as she can only be bred when ovulating. But, I prefer to aim at Spring puppies, as they are easier to keep from chilling.
In mild climates, Fall pups will do just fine.
But I don't breed until I have pre-approved homes for most of the anticipated litter.
Unless you are breeding show puppies my vote is NEVER. We kill 30 thousand dogs a month. We don't need kitchen breeders just coz you think it's profitable to breed your precious angel. Please be responsible. Spay and Neuter your pets. WE DON'T NEED MORE PUPPIES. I promise.

PS-One female cat can produce 420,000 kittens in 7 years. Think about these numbers.
Well.. anytime is a good time.. there is NO BEST time.. It is just whenever you want.
when the female is in heat......
I agree with Chetco on this one. I always aim for the Spring heat myself. Puppies house-train so much easier in the warm weather than in the snow. If you are in a warmer climate, that won't be such a concern.
I do not breed at all unless I have a good-sized waiting list for puppies. Never create puppies without homes... Best of luck to you!
