I have an adorable little dog, that looks like a smaller Benji..Everyone that meets her is charmed. .
.All of my firends have begged me to breed her, so they can have one just like her..I have to admit that it was tempting.
But, she was spayed this week, and i am so happy that I don't have to be tempted anymore..she is a beloved member of our family, and that is all she needs to be.

Very tragic. If everyone were responsible pet owners and spayed or neutered their pet, this would not be happening.
that's terrible. must be those damn puppy mills. Never ever buy a dog from a pet store or "backyard" breeder. NEVER. there are plenty of dogs in shelters, rescues, etc. and be sure to spay/neuter.
Yes, thats why both my dogs were adopted from animal shelters and are nuetered. They also accompany me to do volunteer work getting other dogs adopted from the local shelter

I doubt they are killed "just because they exist". Rather, they were brought to the animal shelter and held for as long as financially possible while the owner or a substitute owner was located.
Unfortunately, folks let their dogs out to breed all over the place - without taking the responsibility for spaying or neutering the pet - and you end up with a lot of unwanted dogs.
I didn't know it was that many. That just proves the importance of spaying and neutering.

That is why dogs and cats should be spayed or neutered. It is amazing, and very sad, that so many people are irresponsible as pet owners. Some situations make me wonder if it is ignorance, selfishness, greed, or just plain evil.
The next problem is that those who spay or neuter their pets are precisely the responsible ones.
God bless those who adopt abandoned mutts disregarding the "purity" of their breed. Those people I love without having even met them.

Yes, this is realized by me. Spaying or neutering dogs is the best thing to do, or if you do choose to breed them, find reliable homes and meet with their potential owners first. To prevent this from happening, everyone who is responsible enough should buy a mutt from the pound instead of a purebred pup from amazing, legendary breeders. these dogs will almost always find homes, while dogs from the pound, although in an unattractive setting, can be just as amazing as your pure pup, although are killed because noone has the heart.
