We used to breed chuihuahuas and they can go for £450 nowdays. We also bought a 2 year old from champion stock but which wasn't good enough for showing because his feet stuck out a bit sideways. We got him for only £100 but this was 5 years ago. I would expect to pay up to £175 for him now - which is inclusive of all the innoculations & booster jabs.

The chihuahuas we have are not the Taco ones, or tiny ones, but the average British type, around half the size of a Jack Russell - we live in the UK so they would be British, obviously - DUH, stoopid me!

Try to buy a dog from a family type of breeder, not from a store. Dogs which come from a decent family home are more likely to be healthy and have regular check-ups at the vet.
While a chihuahua is supposed to be a tiny dog, they also have every right to have some meat on their bodies so make sure the one you choose is lively and strong.
And - even though a chihuahua is supposed to be a tiny dog, too small a dog and you will find he has health problems which the vet may not be practised enough to deal with.
We once had a really tiny chihuahua, we named him Jiminy Cricket and when he was an adult he could fit in the palm of our hand. Obviously he was a runt, but we did manage to keep him alive and happy for 5 years.
Keep him away from ALL children until he knows that this is his home and he has every right to resent little children chasing him around and frightening him with their tumbling feet.
25 years ago my father (now deceased) stepped down from a kitchen stool and trod on a chihuahua - totally tragic - the poor dog was so brutally brain-damaged and was only able to walk crookedly - but we kept him alive and relatively happy for the next 4 years. My mother had bought him for stud - and the poor thing never did get around to taking any interest in the females.
So sad.

Try checking on Spca.com and see their price ranges they should have a list
Without paperwork, about $100
With paperwork, about $400

These are average prices for pet quality with no champion bloodlines.

If it comes from a champ, then you can expect to pay considerably higher. ($1000 and up)
they should be free. I would only take one if I was paid to take it.
It depends on where you live. At age 2 they shouldn't be over $200 w/o papers and not a whole lot more with papers.
