Question:Well, I was looking into buying a west highland terrier. and i was was wondering what i would need, how much they cost, if you would reccomend a boy or a girl, how you would get one, etc. if anyone has any informationn or making links to sites with information that would be great. thanks.

Do some more research by talking to a local breeder. Westies are great dogs, but they are terriers and certainly not for everyone.

as for the price, mabey $500, but i suggest you look in your local pound. there are all kinds of sweet dogs that were either in the wrong place at the wrong time, or could no longer be cared for. you might not find a pure bred westie, but you can definatly find one that is mostly westie. look in the ound first though. i am pretty sure pound puppies are free, and if you find a westie, you'll be saving it from death and saving money you could use to take excellent care for it. : )

Whether you get a boy or girl is going to depend entirely on which you prefer. The cost will vary depending on whether you get a pet quality or show/breed quality pup, but can range from $500-$1500.
