Question:my dog is a year old staffy bull & when she is in the back garden i keep catching her eating slugs will it hurt her ?

I do not envy you if your dog starts throwing up. I'd stop her by saying a very firm "NO" and pulling her away from them.

I dont think they will cause any harm, but i would just call and ask the vet. They should be able to tell you without having to bring your dog in.
Have you thought about killing the slugs so there wont be any left to eat ( you know putting salt on them)
No, dogs try everything and they are used to that so their stomach is not senstive like ours. He/She will be fine!

The slugs shouldn't hurt him, they are similar to clams kind of.
if you were stuck in the wild you would have to eat bugs for protein...dogs are fine..my dogs for some reason eat a lot of horse poop, i duno why they like it but they eat so much they're bellies look like they'll explode. slugs should be fine, its like escargo..lol..only thing i would question would be the mucus amount being taken in.

Dogs, by heritage, are scavengers. They will eat anything and everything that comes their way, and not because they are hungry.
Slugs? Well that's up to your dog, but if he/she couldn't manage it, they wouldn't do it. Don't be surprised if he/she throws up - and then eats that too!
yes thay cud be poisonous to her becase if a nabour as but anything down 2 kill them it will hurt the dog so if i was u id go and ask if they've put anything down
What kind of slugs? The blood-sucking kind, or the snail without the shell type?
If its the blood sucking kind yes those can kill her if they suck blood inside her chest, throat and etc.
The other kind, I think that the slime on their skin has some type of numbing toxin. That may be why your dogs eating them it may be making him sort-of high or drunk causing an addiction.
the slug shouldnt, unless it had eaten any slug poison pellets. I have a dobermann with similar tastes!!
yuk doesn't sound very nice, not sure what they would do to her they may make her sick if she eats to many id ask the vet
