Question:I know it's nothing serious, but me and my friend are wondering because his dog has a pretty small black dot on his tongue.

Its just a birthmark - it means nothing.

He is most likely part Chow as Chow dogs have black tongues. If he is even the smallest amount Chow, his tongue will be partly black. No, it is nothing serious.

i have seen a dog with an all black or spotted tongue before and nothing was wrong with it . chances are nothing is wrong with that dog too but if u are worried about it go see a vet.

Its a pigmentation. Sometime their pigment is pink and some times its black. Its sorta like a birthmark.
My dog has a black spot on the bottom of his mouth. His puppy has the same thing. You are right, it is not anything serious. It's normal, according to my vet. And, yes, has been rumored that this is a sign of good breeding. Happy petting!
