Question:trying to put drops into his ears is a nightmeare he runs away, goes to bite us so any ideas on an easy way to put the drops into his ear without any upset? he is normaly a very happy calm dog.
Answers:
I always found doing this surreptitiously worked for me - with cats and dogs.
Give him a lot of fuss - rub him all over, work up to his chin then ears & whilst rubbing them apply the ear drop & keep rubbibg (so he doesn't shake & spread it all up the walls!!)
there ear wax burstes out of there ears
wow thats weird!
sounds like ear mites to me, need drops from the vets, his ears are probably sore, so dont pull on his ears be very gentle, and he should be ok, my dog gets a lot of infections, so i have to hide the drops in my pocket and wait till she is asleep, then sneak em in, good luck
A nylon muzzle would help. Or some acepromazine (from the vet). Be sure you are only dealing with wax and not ear mites, btw. Two different meds.
Hedge Witch is right.
Steve C50 is talking about acetylpromazine. Do NOT give your dog that unless under suprvision. It slows the heart rate down.
