Question:2 huge wetspots on the bed and I thought he just had an accident or something. I just went in on my couch and found a bunch of tiny wet looking spots, and when I called him he got up and had clear drool, just hanging out of the sides of his mouth. I have never seen him do this before. Does anyone know what this could be, or what is causing it? He did vomit earlier, but he acts like he OK. He was playing & running earlier, he has eaten and had plenty of fluid today. His nose is cold and wet and his eyes are bright. Just wondering if there is anything to worry about.thanks!
Answers:
First of all, look inside his mouth to check if there is anything stuck in his back teeth, like a piece of bone or a bit of stick. This could cause ecessive drooling.
He may also have been stung or bitten around the mouth. This would also cause him to drool excessively. If this is the case you need to take him to the Vet immediately as he will need either an antidote for a snake bite or antihistamine for a wasp or bee sting.
I shouldn't think he'd be teething at this age.
is he teething?
check his teeth and mouth to make sure nothing is stuck in there. I've had animals with the strangest things stuck in and around their teeth and mouth.
Ask the vet,
It could be a lot of things. Teething could be it, but I would be more worried that the dog ate something he should not have eaten or chewed on a wire and got electricuted. You should really take him to a vet to have a look at him.
If he vomited, he might have eaten something bad that he should not have eaten, which is causing the frothing mouth, and might cause worse symptoms later in the day.
