If it is just a sprain how long will she limp on it
Answers:
Go to the vet.
Four days ago? I would take the dog to the vet. Just in case, better safe than sorry. I would think after 4 days she'd be ok on it. Take her in.
take puppy to the vet. her bones are still developing and even a sprain can make it heal and develop incorrectly which will cause big problems down the road.
If it is something inside the pad/paw it could be serious, even if you see no swelling or other traits of a hurt pup, only a vet can tell. Your puppy could get a painful abcess or infection if she has rough play since you don't know what's up with the paw...I recomend bringing your pup to the vet before you have to pay the big bills.. :(
You need to get your puppy to the vet. First of all, Shelties are very stoic animals and won't always show you that they are hurt. Second, puppy bones don't break the way adult bones because they are soft. They tear instead. Your puppy could very well have a broken bone in her leg. If not treated, the bone could become deformed and shorten the growth of the leg. Better safe than sorry.
Take her to the vet as soon as you can; shelties, like most herd dogs, don't often show pain. My dog, Prince, has been stepped on numerous times on his paws, and when we inspect him, the most he will do is give a whimper.
The puppy's still in it's early development stages, so your child stepping on it's paw could do damage that is not very noticeable but will later turn up again as an adult.
Bring it 2 a vet it could be something internally in the foot.
