How do you teach your four year old dog to chew it's food all the way?

Question:

Answers:
put three tennis balls on top of his dog food in the bowl... this will slow him down immensely... he will have to pick around the kibble . works wonders on those dogs who seem to inhale their dinner..

i never met a dog who chewes its food they gulp it down their mouth construction doesnt let them chew like us
You really can't. When my dog was wolfing down food without chewing, I would only give her part of her dinner, then give her a little more, etc. I tried to keep her from gulping it all down then making herself sick. Past that, I'm not sure what you can do. Good luck!
if you mean he just inhales it when u put it in his bowl then put a rock in the bowl so he has to eat around it, it will slow him down alot. I have a dog we call hoover cuz he does that.
thats a common problem. You cant change that.Just keep the food down more often. Not chewing the food all the way is not a problem but eating the food to fast can be a problem. The dogs digestive sytem can break down the food .But if your dog is eating to fast he can choke or vomit.
