As long as its someone you can rely on then yes i would think so.
NEVER put ur dog in a vet cage/border area. My dog got ticks from another dog.he was a BIG WRECK when we got him back. He was under-weight, not eating, not drinking.etc. We had to force feed him for a month until he got over it. So PLEASE choose someone u can rely on to pet sitting ur dog.

Other Answers:
It can be an easy way to make extra money if you like animals and are reliable and trustworthy.

it's a great idea along with walking pets or exercising them.
pet sitting beats babysitting anyday!
i think sitting on a pet is cruel and anybody who does it should be reported to the RSPCA

oppps i may have misunderstood the question and got the wrong end of the stick as it were.

sure it may suit some but i would never leave my holly and benji with strangers
Yes-- I think it is a great way to bring in some extra cash--
Just make sure you have an understanding with the owner on what to do if their animal gets hurt, etc and they need to go to the Vet--get the name and # written down before they go--as well as a contact # for them while they are gone-
Sometimes things do go wrong while the owner is away--
I used to housesit and petsit all the time. I made twenty dollars a day for staying in someone elses house, eating their food and feeding their animals. I want to open a doggy day care.
No.
Pets are not babies. Babies need someone to take care of them.
For pets they actualy do not love to be pet. Leave them in nature. they love that. And they never never like pet sitting. For your own pleasure why should you torture others !!
Depends what it is! If it's a simple pet, it's pretty easy and good way to make money but I was young and someone said I could look after their fish but didnt breif me (anyway.pretty boring!) but i fed it 5 times a day, it's a surprise the poor thing didnt die! But I think anything could happen on your watch, nothing is in your control (unless you do it like you chase it onto a busy road- lol pretty stupid but hey some people might do it by accident!) and its not something like a cat getting run over.
if you love animals its a great job for you. i know i would. lol
yes ,been there done that easy money but you have to love pets
Sounds good but maybe sofas chairs or even benches are a better idea
if ypu like animals and want some extra cash, then sure, why not!
I petsit a dog right now when friends go away. I don't want any money for doing it. Once when they went away, the put it into a kennel. After they picked it up, it got very sick, almost died, and was on antibiotics for a month. I didn't want to see that ever happen again to their dog, so I figured it would be much better for me to look after the dog while they are gone. At least I know it's safe with me.I love animals and don't want to see any of them sick or hurt!
My husband and I work A LOT of hours. I don't necessarily want someone to "baby sit" but I would like to have someone that I trust to let them out for me and walk them. They must be responsible and trustworthy, and fairly affordable. I dont' know how old you are, but if you're a kid or a teenager, I would recommend volunteering at your local Humane Society/SPCA to get some training and experience. Then, go from there. But start out slow.
depends on the pet - if its vicious and vindictive probably not..not all pets are soft and cuddly and well behaved
