If I mate a yellow lab w/ choc lab. Who is dominate?

Question:Will i get some of each color? Or will the colors mix. Which color is dominate?

Answers:
you wont know that until the the dog will give birth

Other Answers:
the colors will not be mixed. but you will get some of each color.you can even get black ones. there is no dominate color in labs

most of the time when breeding a dog the pups usually take after the male's color. sometimes however you can get them to come out some yellow some choc and some with spots.
Please don't breed any more dogs. There are already too many of them being killed in animal shelters. Even if you find all of your puppies homes there are still millions dying in shelters every day. If you are asking out of curiosity, darker colors ususally dominate, you will get a percentage of yellows to browns.
DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE
I think chocolate is dominate... I see more brown labs than anything... I'm not sure though.

Okay... According to wikipedia the gene that causes yellowness (or the lack of brown pigment, rather) is a recessive gene. The dogs will all be brown if the brown dog has two brown genes, but the puppies may be yellow if the brown dog has the brown gene and the recessive gene.
i think yellow is... but im not sure it could be a 50/50 thing. and it depends if they are full blood yellow and full blood chocolate.
There is no dominant color. You will not know. You will get all three colors or possibly even just one color. However, if you don't know that simplet thing then you don't have any business breeding. Labs are among the dogs that there are too many of and can have many health problems unless the parents are screened as well as grandparents and great grandparents!
chocolate is usually dominant
It depends on which one is the male and a roll of the dice. Mammals combine their dna when they mate. the offspring inherit the characteristics of both parents. The male determines the sex, other than that, it is a blend. Just as when a white woman and a black man have a baby, it could be dark, white or mixed, depending on the combination of chromosones.

I'm sure it will be a beautiful dog with the best characteristics of each breed.
Well, you won't know yet because it might be yellow lab and a choc. lab
Don't breed different colored Labs - it's bad for the bloodlines.
