Is it bad that i taught my 14 week cockatiel to go to his cage?

Actually you have done what a lot of people try to do and can not. It is good that you are teaching him the way "home". Think of it this way, if he escapes, where would he look to find his home and safe place. I bet you can teach him alot, just continue working with him
thats a very good thing to teach your bird.. It will come in very handy should your bird ever fly out the door.. You can always tell him to go to his cage and he might just return back to you! Good job!
