I am so sorry for your loss.
The average lifespan for a Budgie is 8 - 10 years. If your bird lived to be 12-years old, she was well taken care of and no doubt a cherished part of your household.

I'm so sorry for your loss! My parakeet Scooter passed away last summer and I miss him so much.
Parakeets can live up to 20 years.
American Parakeets live between 12-14 years if treated well and English Budgies live between 6-8 years
Depending on the diet, seed 4-6, seed with some other foods 6-10. You did a good job depending on what you were feeding it.
With a proper diet it should have lived 22-25 years, but that also depends on the diet when it was born and what the parents fed it too.
I am very very very sorry for your loss. I remember how sad i was when my two budgies died. Their names where Blaire and Captain Banks! But the average life-spand is 6-14+ years.
Once again im very sorry,

I am so sorry for your loss. <Hugs> to you. Budgies have been known to live as long as 20 to 25 years. However, that is under optimal circumstances and is very rare. I tend to agree that 12 was very good! Sadly, most budgies are not given the proper diet, exercise, lighting, vitamins etc and rarely go more than 8 to 10 years.
It seems you have done a good job and were attached to your budgie. Be happy knowing that you helped provide her with a good life :-)
Well it depends on the care. Ushally 15 years with top care.
Remember dont feed grit. And a diet of pellets,a SMALL amount of seed as a treat, fruits, veggies, and scrambled egg is a great diet.
