outside we have magpies and kookaburras and my pet ducks they all do it at the beach seagulls can and pelicans eat fish thrown to them.. like at a place near where i live they do pelican feeding regularly and they all catch it =] .. my drake i throw it to him..( but make it really obvious by making a huge armswing) and he catches and eats it ..its usually soggy bread.. butcher birds catch it in the air when we throw it to the magpies like meat mince and stuff and yea =] so yes you can and you can train it but go really slow and make it real obvious your about to throw it if you want them to learn .. ttyl xxx
Doubtful unless it's a bird that eats flying insects or other birds, like birds of prey.

Yes it 's tons of fun to do this with sea gulls. often times one will catch a treat midair and the others will chase it to try and get the treat from it. My husband and I call this game birdie football.
lol I had a mollucan cockatoo who used to throw her fruit at you when she was in the mood to play. It was fun for a little while until I had to clean up the fruit from the floor and the walls
