Is this normal?

Question:my 2 day-old cockatiel only ate a nibble of seed. isn't moving so much around her new cage, and one of her droppings were green and white. she was at least chirping a little and playing with her toy

Answers:
your bird is getting adjusted, to her new surroundings.she needs a lot of,your attention right now.and as far as the droppings go,it's normal. just give her a lot of TLC!!she needs to get used to you,and her new home.

Does this baby have a Mom? if so Mom bird will feed baby from her crop.Baby bird needs special baby food from Bird store. This is not an easy task. You better be prepared to ask alot of questions from experts.
Give her time to get used to her cage, surroundings. Did you take her for a check-up at the vet? That is the most important thing to do. Does she let you take her out of the cage? If not, talk softly to her by her cage. If she does, gently pick her up and put her somewhere comfy. (Not on the floor) Good luck and have fun with your new bird.
A two-day-old cockatiel cannot see, much less eat solid food.
What did you mean to say?
Get a millet spray and place it on the bottom of the cage. This will add to the food intake the baby is getting, especially when it's foraging around. Yes the green and white is normal. Try wetting down the seed in the seed cup and use less and change it often. Your bird will adjust nicely :) And have fun with your bird! That's the most important part. Take it out and play with it on the floor and on your lap. It's probably going through with-drawals after leaving the rest of the flock. You probably have only this bird and that's OK! Congrats on your new Fid (feathered kid!)
we have 4 birds in our "flock". Two of them when they came home, were very scared and nervous. Neither of them ate very much (birds store up food in their crops, so she won't starve, it goes there first and is digested a little at a time). They wouldn't play with their toys at all and hardly ever made a noise. I was very patient with them, didn't try to pick them up. I would just walk over and talk to them and offer them treats through the cage. It's overwhelming being a little guy and moving to a new home! Each week that goes by, you will notice a difference in his personality, as long as you remain patient, and talk to him, and try to win over his trust without being pushy. New birds just take time. By this time next month, you will have a best friend and a different life!! I cannot imagine not owning birds. They make me laugh every day! Good luck with your new baby!!
