If the administration can bail out unpromising lenders and mortgage brokers, next why...?

not the average American swimming in personal debt?

Why isn't Uncle Sam bailing out Main Street USA? I mean, we spend ourselves into debt, why not permit the government pick up the tab--and give respectively and every one of us a clean slate again?

If Bern Sterns were to go wrong, it would have a ripple affect within the bank community, and our financial basis would collapse......kinda like what happen during the great depression.
The government should not bail out any the borrower or the lender.
If they do what does that say to those of us that are more responsible with our spending customs. And what does it say to lenders that payed closer attention to who and how much they did lend.
First of all, the government's constant lying to us more or less the state of our economy has greatly contributed to the nouns of the bad lenders and mortgage brokers. They are trying to save facade because many of their lies are coming to the surface.

As far as bailing out "Main Street U.S.A.", I have a new-fangled idea. Take some self-responsibility and stop spending yourself into debt. Learn the difference between want and need.
The arguement is that if one of the big companies fail, too many culture would lose thier jobs and the ripple effect would be even worse. One person failing, is zilch, thousands failing at once is too much to handle.
