What's worse?...Defaulting on your mortgage or credit card bills?
I am heading into serious financial trouble and its become apparent that I can't pay both anymore. I'm trying to supply my house (I've discovered homeownership is not for me) and a motorcycle to pay credit card bills, but timing is everything and neither are happening quickly enough. I'm going to end up have to stop paying somebody eventually and I just don't know which entity of the two is worse. Financially wise and saavy nation....HELP!

Make a fitting faith effort to retribution both! Call the creditors and explain what you are doing... it will work in your favor!
The very first thing you call for to do is call both of your creditors. Most of the time if you talk to them and explain the situation to them they can relief you. The WORST thing you can do is default on your debt.
Pay your mortgage - your home is at risk if you don't!!
Your mortgage is classed as a priority debt, credit card bills are not!!
You entail to get something sorted for your credit card debts, write to them and tell them you can't afford to repay what they are asking for. Make an present to them of what you genuinely can afford.
Your best bet is to speak to citizens advice bureau, consumer credit counselling service who will set up a debt paperwork plan on your behalf and it won't cost you a penny. Or go to another debt management company and arrange an IVA through them - they will charge for this. Other than that, as a ultimate resort, file for bancruptcy but be aware of the implications it will hold on the rest of your life before you do!

mortgage, but what you should do is set a payment plan near your credit card company and mortgage lender. see if you can pay half of what you are paying, if they speak no, still at least your paying something to them. i have done that back with other bills, hospital not credit or mortgage, and they never complained. all that can begin is they charge you a late fee and it take longer for you to pay it off, but atleast within not going to send it into collections, because they are recieving some payment from you. hope this help a bit. i know the economy sucks, good luck.
