Why should we pay for others mistakes? Hasn't anyone well-educated not to bite off more than you can chew?
People should know what they can afford and buy accordingly. I should not hold to pay more taxes because someone can't budget. If they want to buy a house with adjustable mortgage, they should know the consequences.

What's your assessment.
Answers:
I am all for helping people contained by a crisis, but not for their own choices.

Unless there was a disaster, approaching a hurricane or flood that caused someone to default on their loan Hillary requirements to let everyone live with their choices.

Lots of folks bought modest homes that they could afford, why should their taxes pay for the luxury homes for someone else?
That money could be used for much better things contained by our society. Fixing other people's debt problems is not one of them! Let's better our schools so maybe ethnic group, with better education, won't find themselves contained by those positions again.
Agreed. Let the flea market work. Without consequences, nobody will make a better choice next time.
I am with you. I own no desire to pay for someone elses home. I would rather recompense for welfare housing, at least then they are not making a profit out stale of my work.

There are no mortgages without signatures. Everyone made the choice of what they wanted and they should receive what they asked for. They asked for an ARM, so they should attain it.

I bought my first home very young and I struggled, only just like most people. I literally go without TV or movies for 2 years, and ate very cheaply, growing as much food as I could within my first yard. I drove a beat up motor, and did not buy the "cool clothes" like many immature women.

Today I own 2 dozen properties and an in escrow for another. I worked really hard and made choices that allowed me my little collection. I DEEPLY resent anyone expecting to see back with their case of chips and their satellite TV and expect ME, Ms. Taxpayer to pay for their life style.

We adjectives make choices and deserve the consequences of those choices. Goof or bad, everyone contracted what path to take.
the real estate agents who sold these subprime loans and arms know full well what they were doing...the collected much surrounded by commissions. I agree with the federal government going after these empire and shutting them down and prosecuting them.

i also agree that we need assistance for these people who be basically scammed by the unethical genuine estate agents. not all real estate agents are immoral...just those that sold these programs.....they knew and did nil to stop it.

even on the worse side...lets say nil happens to the agents or the mortgage companies, and we do assist the foreclosed homebuyer...there is a in one piece other group of persons who have be hurt and / or scammed....these are the renters from many of these homeowners...the renters have be thrown out of their shelters due to the unethical behavior of agents and buyers not being aware ample of their contracts.

this "bad mortgage" thing is not going away against the clock and everyday more sad stories are surfacing.

I wish i have one large blank check to fix it all.

this is merely my opinion - based upon medium reports and the constant questions about foreclosure that come through this venue.

thankfulness for asking :)
Well you can look at it this style.....if those people loose there home after in turn they will be homeless, then they will twist up on welfare anyway, and be in huge debt. So any way you look at it we will hold to pay.
parliament is the savoir of us all

well, Hillary unquestionably thinks so.

that the rest of us are rolling on the floor laughing our asses off probably doesn't be determined much to her.

Btw, you do know that real estate flippers [a species of human shark that preys on other humans] are a prime source of sub-prime mortgages, right?

They 'sell' these properties at inflated prices on unrealistic terms to relatives who sometimes speak so little English that they haven't a prayer of understanding the contract that becomes a subprime mortgage.

Might it be within all of our better interests if mortgage originators said to some ethnic group that "no -- your finances just do not support you borrowing this much money." ??

Who is she kidding? The simply way we can make everyone roughly equal is to interrupt Communism. [I assume she'd volunteer to be the illustrous leader for us all, right?]

:-)
If this proposed legislation targets lenders who mislead clients, I hope it passes. If it is merely an attempt to bring back votes from people who should know better but don't, she is no better than the people she is trying to regulate.
Agree totally, Hillary is looking for votes will never actually happen
Having the system bail people out of financial trouble has other been a bad notion. It means more taxes for everyone and less money for those that are fitting earners and careful spenders It does not solve ANY problems, just creates clean ones.

I've worked in the finance industry for 14 years in a minute. It's not that people can't afford their homes and go into foreclosure. It's more the situation where on earth people can't afford their mortgage ON TOP OF their BMW payment, 20K within credit card debt, $8 a day starbucks habit, and Coach purses. Debt have become an unfortunate way of energy in America. People bite off more than they can knob and take the easy road out.

Leave the real estate market be. The lenders will adjust for risk on their own and tighten their lend standards. Rates are still relatively low compared to 10 years ago. Let the market correct ITSELF!
