Is it discouraging for a mortgage fee to be posted after the due date, but past the grace interval ends?

If a mortgage payment is due on the 1st of each month and near is a 15-day grace period, is it considered bad if the sum posts sometime after the due day but before the expire of the grace period?

I looked this up online, and one professional article said that even though the lender won't charge a late tax or report negative credit information, the payment is still slowly if it's posted after the due date but within the grace period.

However, my lender tried to go and get me to set up automatic mortgage payments and even told me that I could have the payment withdrawn on the unbelievably last day of the grace time of year.

So, in short, the question is: Just because belatedly fees are not assessed and negative credit history is not reported, is the payment still delayed if it posts on the 2nd of the month, for example?
Answers:
Yes You are late. You must mail your money 10 days prior to the first. That covers the post office and time credit to your account. Just because unpaid charges do not kick in till the 15th your credit history take a hit as a late payer.
I enjoy always had the practice of paying on the dot regardless if there is a grace period. It in recent times makes good sense. Why risk have a future creditor finding out you're late on payments? It's purely not worth taking the risk. Check out Clark Howard and Dave Ramsey websites and ask for their input.
It is due the first therefore any time after the first is considered late unless the first is on a Sat, Sun or holiday. It will not be reported belated to the credit bureau unless it is 30 days or more late. If a future creditor looks at your donation history it will show you are a slow pay. Get on track to pay it on the first.
No, that's the point of a grace period. Source(s): I work at a ridge
