Will my impossible FICO mark affect my likelihood of getting a mortgage loan?
My husband has a good mark, but my score is poor. We are applying for a mortgage next week. Will my poor win hurt our changes of getting a mortgage?
Answers:
It probably will negatively affect your mortgage application. If possible in your state, could your husband, alone, apply for the mortgage? ie is his income high plenty to justify the loan?
If your husband brings in most of the money... you might want to try just putting it surrounded by his name for now. (the mortgage...)
Good Luck...
You can add to your credit score dramatically if you make a generous payment towards outstanding credit card balances.
Let's speak you have a credit card balance of $5000. If you can get by to pay $5000 on that bill at once you can improve your credit chalk up dramatically. Lenders know this works... try it and make sure that the credit card co. immediately reports your full giving to the credit bureaus... they seem to lag aft when it comes to reporting a payment that wipes out adjectives credit card debt for that card.
Your FICO ranking is WHAT determines whether you get the loan or not so YES a BAD FICO will keep you from getting the loan and you will necessitate a Co/Signer
Yes. They might still give you the loan, but it will expected be at a much higher rate than a couple with 2 right scores. The way credit is right very soon, it's more likely that they'll deny you if your score is low.
If I were you I would dance to the mortgage lender and get a prequalification or an opinion on whether your loan could could be approved using both your name. It could be that his good credit will compensate for your bad. If not, see if your husband qualify on his own.
It very well might. Thanks to the credit crunch even those beside so called perfect credit are have difficulties obtaining financing of any kind.
